Little Adam’s Peak
Madulsima mountain range at the border of the Uva Province plunges to the eastern plains offering an enchanting panorama. 15 minutes from the hotel by surface. Travel 01Km Namunukula / Passara Road and turn at Sachini Flower Nursery and proceed on the gravel road up to Little Adam’s Peak. A 45 minutes walk from Ella Town.
Horton Plains / World’s End
Sri Lanka’s highest and most isolated plateau at an altitude of almost 1900 meters. 2 hours drive from “Heaven’s Edge”. Alternatively, you could travel by train to the Ohiya railway station and trek from there. The Horton Plains National Park is the only National Park situated in the Hill Country. Nature lovers would love this wide, Patna-grass covered plain. The grassy plains, which are interspersed with small patches of forest, are home to many wild animals including, leopards, sambar and monkeys. This is also one of the top destinations for bird watches who can observe an impressive bird life, including some endemic species. The most dramatic feature of the National Park is ‘World’s End’ where the plateau comes to an abrupt end and drops nearly 1000m vertically. The view is magnificent on a clear day.
Adisham Bungalow
Adishm Bungalow is a yet another destination for tourists whom are visiting to Sri Lanka. It is also named as St. Benedict’s monastery. Adishm Bungalow is situated in just 2 km Haputale town; Sri Lanka. It was built by British noble man and a planter Sir. Thomas Lister Villiers, a British governor in 1931.
Referring to the records it took 4 years to complete the full monastery. Sir Thomas Villiars came to Sri lanka in 1887. He was a grandson of Lord John Russel – PM of Britain at that time. First he was trainee planter at Elbedde estate, Bogawantalawa. He married a daughter of a tea planter. Since she was a skillful painter she decorated the library and dining room of Adishm with her paintings.
Dambatenne Tea Factory
The colonial Dambatenne Tea factory is located in the eastern part of Haputale town, Sri Lanka. The factory has earned a reputation among the travelers and tourists as a place to be toured where they can learn about the tea making process. It is just 11 km from Haputale to the preferred destination.
It covers a broad valley ringed with steep sierra. The dambetena estate extends to 2500 acres while providing residencies for 4600 population. So far approximately 1300 of them are workers. This long white factory was built by Sir Thomas Lipton. It is located in a beautiful tea state through the Dambatenne Tea factory.
Degaldoruwa Raja Maha Viharaya
Degaldoruwa Rajamaha Viharaya itself is a cave temple. Tourists admire this temple as being presumptuous about its paintings and architecture.The temple was built by King Rajadi Ranajsingha in 1771. It is fully designed to elaborate Kandyan Style. The temple is located in Amunugama, Kandy Sri Lanka
Diyaluma Falls
Places Like ‘Diyaluma’ falls in other words ‘Diya Heluma’ attract so many tourists to Sri lanka. It is a high ranked water fall in Sri Lankan Tourism whether it is considered as the the 2nd tallest waterfall in Sri lanka and the 361 highest waterfall among the world.
It is Located very close to the A4 road between Wellawaya and Koslanda, 6 miles from Koslanda and 13 miles from wellawaya. If you wanted to go to the top of the water fall you will have to follow a road begins from a small rubber factory by the side of the road. Few rock pools and smaller waterfalls can be seen above the Diyaluma water fall. They can be visited within 30-40 minutes.
Ella Rock
Since Sri Lanka has been recognized as a tour – friendly country, Ella has one of the best tourism sites to travel. Ella rock located at Ella town is a great answer to the travelers whom are expecting astonishment. The destination is connected with hiking, nature, panorama, train tracks, tea plantations and waterfalls.
Ella rock is a great place for a small adventure travel as you can explore a large entire area with hiking, walking and enjoying. The easiest way to the Ella rock begins from a train rail track, go along the tracks away from city for about 1.5 km until you meet a small waterfall. Even Some foreign tourists say that it was the 1st time that they got to walk on a railway.
Lipton’s Seat
Lipton’s seat is one of the attractive observation points of Sri Lankan Tourism. It is located on the top of the Poonagala hill near the Dambetenna tea factory in Poonagala, Sri lanka. The place gets this name after the famous tea planter Sir Thomas Lipton used this place to survey the surrounding region of his tea plantations.
To reach the place you have to climb about 7 km through rich tea plantations. Some parts of the roads are still not repaired since British built them. Therefore the original stone constructions are abided. From the Lipton’s view you can entertain and have a conspicuous view of the Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Eastern provinces including 7 districts.
Rawana Ella
At a glance of view the Rawana Ella fall is a eye catching waterfall for local and foreign tourists. Whole over the day the area is crowded with tourists. This 25m high water fall is with the water resources from Heel Oya reservoir situated in Badulla district, Sri Lanka.
It has been picked out as a one of the widest waterfalls in Sri lanka. There are two waterfalls in ella. One is the Ravana Ella and the other one is Rawana falls. Rawana falls is situated above the Rawana Ella which can’t be seen from the main road.
By the way the correct name for Rawana ella is supposed to be is Bambaragma Ella. The forming part of the Ravana ella is a wild life sanctuary.
Stag Hill (Fox Hill)
The hill Stag hill in other names Fox hill is located in Diyatalawa, Sri Lanka. Diyatalawa is a garrison city in the central highlands of Uva Province, Sri Lanka. It is the city where Air Force’s gorund combating centre, Sri Lanka Military academy and the Sri Lanka Police are cladding.
